Terms and conditions of sale

The short version: quoted on request, paid against a pro-forma invoice, made to order, lead time confirmed before we start, 12-month warranty.

Last updated 24 October 2026.

1. Who you are buying from

UK Commutators is a trading name of Stratos Consultants Limited, registered in England and Wales, company number 07279650. Registered office and business address: Rosedale Studios, Rosedale Road, Richmond, Surrey, TW9 2SX ("we", "us"). These terms apply to every quote, order and sale.

2. Quotes and orders

We do not sell from a price list. Every part is quoted on request, in pounds sterling, ex VAT with the VAT-inclusive price alongside. A quote is valid for 30 days. An order is formed when you accept our written quote and we confirm it with a pro-forma invoice. Parts are made to the drawing or dimensions you give us; you are responsible for their accuracy unless we have agreed to check them against an OEM drawing. Where the factory proposes a change to a dimension, we will ask for your approval before manufacture.

3. Lead time and delivery

Parts are made to order. Standard lead time is by sea freight; an urgent air-freight option is quoted separately at a premium. The lead time we confirm is our best estimate and we will tell you promptly if it changes. Delivery is within the UK by tracked courier at the rate shown at checkout or in the quote. Risk passes to you on delivery; title passes when we have been paid in full.

4. Price and payment

The quoted price includes import VAT, duty and delivery to your UK address; there is nothing further to pay on arrival. When you accept a quote we send a pro-forma invoice, payable in full by bank transfer before manufacture starts. You receive a VAT invoice on dispatch. We may agree other terms in writing with regular trade customers.

5. Warranty

We warrant each commutator against defects in materials and manufacture for 12 months from delivery. If a part is defective we will, at your choice, replace it or refund the price, and reimburse reasonable return postage. The warranty does not cover damage caused by incorrect fitting, machining beyond the stated dimensions, or faults elsewhere in the machine. This warranty is in addition to your legal rights.

6. Returns

Every part is made to order to the customer's dimensions or drawing, so parts cannot be returned because they are no longer wanted. Faulty parts, or parts that do not match the dimensions on the accepted quote, are dealt with under the warranty. The cancellation rights in the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013 do not apply to goods made to the customer's specification.

7. Liability

Our liability for any order is limited to the price paid for it, except that nothing in these terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot be limited by law. We are not liable for loss of profit, downtime or consequential loss in business sales.

8. General

These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales and the courts of England and Wales have jurisdiction. If any part is found unenforceable the rest still applies.
