Payment, delivery and warranty

What happens after you accept a quote

Pro-forma invoice, made to order, imported by us and delivered tracked to your door with one UK VAT invoice. Standard by sea or urgent by air.

Lead time

Every commutator is made to order. Two lead times are quoted for every part:

OptionLead timeNotes
Standard, sea freight4 to 5 weeksManufacture plus shipping, door to door. The default price
Urgent, air freightFaster, quoted on requestAt a premium, quoted alongside the standard price. Very large parts may be sea only

The lead time on your quote is confirmed by email when you accept it and pay the pro-forma invoice. If anything changes during manufacture you hear from us before the original date, not after it.

Checks

Every drawing and dimension is checked before the order goes to the factory. If anything looks wrong, or the factory proposes a change, you hear from us before anything is made.

Payment

Every order starts with a quote. When you accept it we send a pro-forma invoice, payable by bank transfer, and the part goes into production once it is paid. You receive the full UK VAT invoice when the part is dispatched. Nothing is made, and nothing is charged, until you accept the quote.

Delivery

Delivery is included in the price on your quote. We handle the import and send the finished part to you within the UK by tracked courier, and you receive a tracking number by email on dispatch.

We deliver to Great Britain and Northern Ireland. For Ireland, the Channel Islands and elsewhere, ask us and we will quote.

One UK invoice

The price on your quote includes import VAT, duty and delivery. There is nothing to pay on arrival and no courier handling fee. You receive a UK VAT invoice from UK Commutators, a trading name of Stratos Consultants Limited that you can file in the normal way.

Warranty

Every commutator carries a 12-month warranty against defects in materials and manufacture, from the date you receive it. If a part is faulty we replace it or refund it, your choice, and we cover the return postage. The warranty does not cover damage from incorrect fitting, machining beyond the stated dimensions, or electrical faults elsewhere in the armature.

Returns

Every commutator is made to order to your measurements or drawing, so it can't be returned because it is no longer needed. If a part is faulty, or does not match the dimensions on the quote you accepted, email sales@ukcommutators.co.uk with your order number and photos and we will put it right under the warranty, including return postage.

Statutory consumer cancellation rights do not apply to goods made to the customer's specification. See the terms and conditions.
