Large commutators are where a rewind shop pays the most and waits the longest. They are also the ones we most want to quote. V-ring construction and silver-bearing copper, made to your drawing.

How big can you go?

Send the drawing or the old part's dimensions and we confirm with the factory that it can be made before we quote. If it can't, we tell you straight away.

How a large commutator is priced

Three things decide it: copper weight, segment count and how fast you need it. Everything else is on the drawing.

1. Drawing or dimensions

Send the drawing in any format, or fill in the data sheet from the old part: segments, diameters, bore, lengths, V-ring extensions, slots. Photos of the old part end on and side on.

2. Firm price within 5 working days

In pounds, ex and inc VAT, delivery included, for one off and for a batch if you want it. If the factory would change a dimension to make it manufacturable, you hear about it before you decide.

3. Standard or urgent

Standard 4 to 5 weeks by sea. Urgent faster by air, quoted alongside, so you can weigh the premium against the machine standing idle. Very large parts may be sea only.
