Starter commutators made to your measurements

The A to G measurements and a photo, or the OEM number on the armature. We check it against the drawing, send a firm price and lead time within 2 working days, and nothing is made until you accept the quote. Industrial or large commutator? Use the full data sheet instead.

What we need from you

The more of this you can give us, the faster and more accurate the quote. A photo of the old commutator and the number stamped on the armature is often enough on its own.

  1. Count the segments

    Count the copper bars around the brush surface. Mark one with a pen so you don't go round twice.

  2. Measure A to G in millimetres

    A digital caliper is ideal; a steel rule is fine to the nearest half millimetre. The diagram on the form shows exactly where each one goes.

  3. Photograph it

    One photo of the end with the bars visible, one of the side showing the hooks. Daylight, plain background, in focus.

  4. Send it over

    Use the form, or email the photos and numbers. We reply within one working day and send a firm price in pounds and a lead time within 2 working days.

Minimum order

One. Most made-to-measure orders are a single part for a single rebuild. Volume pricing is available on a trade account.

Lead time

Typically 4 to 5 weeks by sea for a made-to-measure part, confirmed with your quote, or faster by air if the job is urgent. We tell you both before you commit.

Tolerance

Made to the dimensions you give us within ±0.2 mm. If you are unsure about a measurement, say so and we will check it against the OEM drawing where we have one.
